The Perkins Group and Blossom Software Form Alliance

The Perkins Group (TPG), a research and consulting organization serving the international database information industry, has announced a strategic alliance with Blossom Software Corp of Brookline, MA.

The agreement calls for TPG to work with Blossom to customize its advanced Web data search and mining tools to meet the specialized needs of compilers of business databases.

According to Russell Perkins, TPG's president, "Database producers need to collect more information than they have in the past, and update it more frequently. This calls for a whole new approach to data development and maintenance that we call Computer Aided Editing, and Blossom's suite of software tools addresses this need perfectly."

Blossom software helps publishers identify and capture relevant data anywhere on the Web, and delivers it for rapid processing into a structured database format. Other Blossom products monitor changes on Web pages and alert publishers to new information for immediate inclusion in their databases.

In addition to the custom-tailored solutions that Blossom will implement for TPG clients, TPG will also add Blossom's innovative "do it yourself" Web mining and monitoring tools to its popular InfoCommerce Report Web site, www.infocommercereport.com.
