UnumProvident Corporation Inc has selected data warehousing technology from Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, to create an enterprise system for managing and analyzing data across its divisions.

Success with the Teradata platform at Provident prior to the merger with Unum was a key factor in the decision. The significant upgrade will enable UnumProvident to assimilate data from many operational systems to get a complete financial picture of its business and facilitate a complete customer profile in support of its integrated benefits strategy.

The new platform includes the industry-leading Teradata database, hardware and software as well as infrastructure services support from Teradata.
