Teradata Launches New Offer to Migrate Oracle DW Users

At the International Oracle Users Group meeting, Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation launched a new data warehousing offer for Oracle users, Teradata Data Warehousing for Oracle Environments.

The new offer is designed to help companies easily and cost-effectively add data warehousing to their Oracle operational environments or migrate their data warehouses or data marts from Oracle to Teradata. The offer also includes a specialized Teradata training curriculum for Oracle professionals.

Teradata Data Warehousing for Oracle Environments allows companies to reap the benefits of Teradata, including the ability to keep detailed data in a centralized system with access by hundreds or thousands of users, while sourcing transaction data from their Oracle online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. And companies that use this service for data mart consolidation can see significant cost savings, as much as a three times cost reduction, as they switch to a centralized data warehouse.

The new offer from Teradata is based on the organization's experience in migrating Oracle customers and working with other industry-leading companies, some who have grown their data warehouse systems from gigabytes to terabytes. Teradata customers, many of whom have won awards for their decision support and CRM implementations, have been able to use their data warehouses to drive business growth while empowering their employees and suppliers with access to detailed company data.
