Camelot/OMG Announce Keynote Speakers for Integrate 2001

Camelot Communications and The Object Management Group (OMG) announced its keynote speakers for Integrate 2001 -- a three-day conference encompassing today's technological challenges and how the promise of tomorrow's solutions can be incorporated into existing enterprise applications.

From 19 to 21 September, in New York City, hundreds of industry leaders will gather at the OMG-sponsored event to share the latest information in component-based software marketplace. The sessions include a special focus on how technologies such as distributed objects, component ware, CORBA, UML, Java, XML, ActiveX, IIOP, SOAP and C## are being integrated into the next generation of enterprise applications -- and serve as the infrastructure for technology companies like Netscape, Oracle, Sun, IBM, Microsoft and hundreds of others.

"The next giant leaps in cross-enterprise Internet computing are rolling out as we speak. Integrate 2001 provides the forum to help companies navigate through the sea of competing specifications and quickly produce results for faster application development, easier maintenance, enormous scalability and reusable software solutions," said Dr. Richard Soley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the OMG. "Over three days, software professionals and corporate IT leaders will analyze case studies, learn the best industry practices and share success stories."

Delegates attending will delve into the ever-changing world of software architecture. At Integrate 2001, CIOs, CTOs, and senior project leaders will share ideas and tools that allow existing enterprise solutions to connect with what is coming down the road. One of the specifications to watch is the OMG's Model-Driven Architecture, which is gaining momentum and already has been voted by its membership as the basis for future OMG standards.

Keynotes

Model Driven Architecture Panel: The Architecture of Choice for a Changing World - A panel moderated by Richard Mark Soley, Ph.D. Panelists include: Kevin P. Tyson, Chief Information Officer at Ocean Power, Larry L. Johnson, Chief Architect at MSC.Software Corporation, Sridhar Iyengar, Chief Architect at Unisys Universal Repository (UREP), and Dr. Jishnu Mukerji, Senior Systems Architect at Hewlett-Packard. Driven by constant change in the computer industry and the incessant, annual arrival of silver bullets that promise to be the "Next Best Thing" for solving all interoperability problems, today's CIO needs an architecture that leverages existing assets and returns ROI. The Object Management Group's new Model Driven Architecture is designed to do just that.

Understanding the B2B Application Integration Imperative - Presented by David S. Linthicum, an internationally respected EAI and eBusiness integration expert.

There is no getting away from automating common business events -- inter- and intra-organizationally. However, to be successful, companies will have to meet the challenge of exchanging quality information, quickly and between applications without disrupting existing business process. This keynote session is a must attend for those looking to participate in the new real-time economy.

Four Macro Trends in Software Development - Presented by Dr. Ivar Jacobson Dr. Jacobson, one of the great thought-leaders in the software world and one of the pioneers of components and component architecture, use cases, modern business engineering, the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the Rational Unified Process (RUP).

His keynote provides the foundation for enabling the long-awaited components industry, verifying activities as development proceeds, putting more intelligence in learning systems and amplifying developers' creativity, and replacing traditional programming languages with more formal languages, growing out of UML. This talk promises to explore the outer limits of software development.

Views from Steve Vinoski, Chief Architect at IONA. This pace-setting innovator will share his experiences and vision for the future of total business integration.
