Killer Queries No Problem for Sand/IBMSand Technology Inc announced that testing by IBM proved that Sand's award-winning Nucleus business intelligence solution delivers super-scaleable performance when processing large numbers of "killer queries" on IBM's midrange eServers. IBM testing proved that Nucleus performed faster the greater the number of users simulated. In the testing, multiple concurrent users (12, 24, 48 and 96) each issued 12 complex "killer" queries one after another, as fast as the 12-way AS/400 could process them. Average response times per query and per user actually decreased, and the number of complex queries completed per minute increased as the testers stepped up the number of concurrent users. "What we demonstrated was pushing many computers' worth of work on one machine, which is super-scalability. If analytics become a problem - for example, a complex query killing everyone on the machine - you can tolerate that query if you are running Nucleus on the iSeries AS/400," said Arthur Ritchie, president, Sand Technology.
The testing results are detailed in IBM's White Paper, "Nucleus Proves Itself
A Super-Scaleable iSeries Solution at the Teraplex Center," which can be found
