QueryObject System v.3.20 Now AvailableQueryObject Systems Corporation, a leader in analytical infrastructures for the Information Economy, announced the general availability of Version 3.20 of its scaleable Internet data mart technology, the QueryObject System (QOS). QOS is the leading solution for providing high speed, highly scaleable access to multi-dimensional business data over the Internet. In addition to overall enhancements to the speed, scope and scale of system performance, V3.20 further refines the process for building and maintaining QueryObject analytical environments with new java-based prototyping and design "wizards." V3.20 also increases data security with augmented security capabilities down to the category level, allowing administrators to control access to specific data records by specific users, and supports analysis of the resulting QueryObject data marts via any analytical "front-end" - such as Cognos PowerPlay, BusinessObjects or Brio - which uses the ODBO (OLE/DB for OLAP) industry data access standard. "We had three key goals for this release, ease of use, security and openness - all based on enhancement requests from customers," said QueryObject Chairman and CEO Robert Thompson. "With this latest version, QueryObject data marts are even faster for users to prototype, build and deploy, while containing much higher levels of data security." "The new ODBO interface means that QueryObject's can now support simultaneous use by a whole variety of popular Business Intelligence tools using either the traditional relational query style via ODBC or JDBC, or full multi-dimensional analysis via OLE/DB for OLAP," Thompson added. "With this release we continue to enhance QueryObject's position of analytical data mart of choice for highly scaleable Internet applications." Overview of V3.20's capabilitiesV3.20 offers a number of key upgrades over previous versions of the QueryObject System: Security FeaturesV3.20 provides granular level security. The QueryObject Administrator can now grant user access rights based on a data dimension, or based on a unique category or unique value within a dimension. Usability FeaturesQueryObject Engine Control Panel: V3.20 provides Administrators with the ability to build QueryObjects remotely by logging into the QueryObject Engine from another workstation or from a laptop computer while traveling. Range Wizard: With the new Range Wizard, the Administrator can automatically generate ranges by specifying the method to be used and the number of ranges to be generated. SQL Wizard: V3.20 includes a new SQL Wizard to simplify the process of selecting data from single or multiple table relational databases. Direct QueryObject Merge: QueryObject Build and QueryObject Merge can be used together to allow data to be incrementally added to a QueryObject. This facilitates the building of "rolling" environments that can add updated data and simultaneously drop outdated data. New Metric Types: V3.20 now supports minimum, maximum and average as metric types. Custom Calculations: QueryObject Administrators now have the ability to encapsulate their own business rules within a QueryObject to create custom calculations at the record level. Open System FeaturesODBO Access: V3.20 adds ODBO access to the existing ODBC, JDBC and OLE/DB interfaces. This means that QueryObject data marts can now work with the complete range of Web-based and client server BI tools supporting either relational style queries or OLAP style analysis from within the same data mart. Oracle8 Support: V3.20 adds support for Oracle 8 and 8i databases to the list of 22 other data sources that are supported through native drivers. QueryObject Analyzer: This latest version of QueryObject's default data browser adds important new functionality such as the ability for users to analyze multiple dimensions on a single axis, apply multiple level filters and perform their own calculations. About the QueryObject SystemThe QueryObject System (QOS) enables data intensive organizations such as telecommunications, financial services, retail and e-businesses, to achieve a competitive advantage by rapidly analyzing large amounts of critical business data over the Internet. QOS is the first true data structure for the Information Economy, employing extremely efficient, highly distributable multidimensional data sets to:
This can be achieved while enhancing the efficiency of existing BI infrastructure and maintaining data security and privacy.
