New DW Solution Available to TriZetto ASP Customers

The TriZetto Group Inc, an information technology and services company focused on the healthcare industry, will offer Ingenix's InfoMiners data warehouse solution to their ASP customer base through a strategic alliance with Ingenix, one of the largest health data and information companies in the industry, Ingenix announced.

According to Larry Bridge, TriZetto's senior vice president payer services, the alliance will deliver important solutions for TriZetto customers.

"Enterprise-wide decision support is increasingly important for healthcare providers and payers in a very competitive market," says Bridge. "Through this alliance, we will be able to deliver decision support solutions to help them succeed."

The Ingenix InfoMiners Enterprise Solution will be marketed to payers, providers and property and casualty insurers. They will use this solution to analyze their data and create solutions before challenges arise.

"We are delighted with this alliance," says Michele Mercer, vice president of medical management and decision support for Ingenix. "The alliance provides opportunities for Ingenix and TriZetto, and TriZetto customers will benefit from the advantages of using InfoMiners."

Through this alliance, users will be able to turn raw data into useful business information. The Ingenix InfoMiners data warehouse can process massive amounts of both financial and clinical data from the client's system and extract key business metrics. Results are delivered to any PC, via Internet or Intranet, with reports that highlight potential problems. Unlike standard reporting systems, the InfoMiners system allows business managers to immediately drill-down to the patient-level detail under the report summaries -- to find the cause of problems before they grow, and take corrective action.

This is a major step forward, according to Mercer. "We're finding that many payers think they already own a data warehouse. But when they see the InfoMiners system, and compare it to what they have, this is obviously a better solution for the business manager." The difference is the ability to go beyond static reports. "At best, they may have built data repositories linked to a reporting system. The data is clean and consolidated but they still have reams of data that they try to wade through to make decisions. They don't have the analytic tools that can turn that data into useful business information. That's the key advantage that the InfoMiners Enterprise Solution provides."

TriZetto selected Ingenix after several months of discussions, which led to the formal alliance agreement, according to Bridge. "The InfoMiners system gives high-level executives the ability to see the big picture, spot anomalies, then actually browse down into the data to find out why these things are occurring. We believe this solution holds real value for TriZetto customers."
