Analycorp Offers XLSim with MS Office XP Inside Out

Analycorp Inc, a leading provider of practical risk modeling tools and seminars, announced that its Monte Carlo simulation add-in for Microsoft Excel, XLSim, will be featured on the companion CD to the Microsoft Press title Microsoft Office XP Inside Out. XLSim uses a quantitative technique allowing managers without statistical training to model financial and other types of uncertainty and risk within the familiar environment of the spreadsheet.

"We are excited to participate with the launch of Microsoft's Office XP," said Dr. Sam Savage, founder of Analycorp, who also teaches Management Science at Stanford University. "Through this offer, Microsoft Excel users are enabled to better understand their business problems without getting lost in the complexity of statistical analysis."

XLSim offers up to one million iterations and two hundred output cells. It allows multiple outputs to be graphed on common graphs and animated for ease of comparison. Graphing functions are offered by applying Excel's internal capabilities.

"The simplicity and ease with which XLSim can be used to perform complex simulations is impressive," said Ralph Blakemore, Director, Center for Advanced Technology, Enron Wind Corp. "Its approach to reducing mathematical and statistical analysis terminology to easily understood examples and discussion is under verbatim to describe the results of our simulations to management."

A trial version of XLSim is available for free download at www.XLSim.com. This includes an electronic tutorial authored by Dr. Savage with a foreword by Peter L. Bernstein, author of best seller: Against the Gods - The Remarkable Story of Risk.
