He joined the management team of Naviant as a result of the sale of a successful direct marketing software company, Softbank Marketing Solutions (SMS), which was a division of Softbank Holdings Inc, a minority investor in Internet and media-based companies such as E*TRADE and Yahoo. As co-founder and executive vice president at SMS, de Haseth was responsible for obtaining company funding, building an infrastructure, marketing, business development, and product strategy. Before SMS, de Haseth held the position of vice president of marketing at Information Access Company, a leading electronic information content provider. During his career, de Haseth has held various senior management positions with emphasis in the database and direct marketing arenas, including direct marketing manager at Sybase, Inc., senior product marketing manager at Dataproducts Corporation, direct marketing manager at U.S. Sales Corporation, and director of database marketing at Hewlett-Packard. He began his career at Harlequin Enterprises and Reader's Digest. de Haseth holds a bachelor's of science degree and a master's in economics from the University of Waterloo.
