Kamoon Announces v.2.5 Release/Bortniker to Sales Exec

Kamoon Inc, a leader in enterprise expertise management, announced the release of the Kamoon Solution Version 2.5 and the appointment of Marc Bortniker to vice president of Sales. Bortniker brings more than twenty years of high tech sales and sales management experience, industry relationships, and strategy expertise to help Kamoon customers solve business problems and identify new opportunities for Kamoon's software offerings. Kamoon's technology matches inquiries to the most appropriate person, enables the interactions among people, and tracks all information and outcomes to enable process measurement and management. Kamoon's products enable sales forces, channel partners, and customer service organizations to find the right person that can deliver critical information when it is needed most. With its new product release, Kamoon delivers a new level of flexibility, functionality and productivity enhancement for its customers.

The Kamoon Solution enables organizations to effectively address business interactions that are lower in volume but higher in value -- complex, non-repetitive communications that require human involvement. The form of these critical business interactions can range from simple asynchronous messaging to sophisticated, structured workflow involving links, attachments and other supporting content. Kamoon's products enhance existing implementations of customer relationship management, sales force automation, and channel management software with the following client benefits:

  • Improving sales professionals' productivity in answering critical customer questions that results in reduced sales cycles, more time selling new customers and increased conversion rates.
  • Enabling channel partners to productively access the appropriate experts in order to get information required 'to sell' more products. Improving access by channel partners and their productivity results in greater commitment, more sales channel revenue, and lower support costs.
  • Providing service centers with access to the right experts to quickly close a case or a sale. This improves service center representatives' productivity in answering critical customer questions and reduces that time required to close a case, thereby lowering operating cost and increasing customer satisfaction.

Kamoon provides true expertise matching by routing based on dynamic business policies. "The ability to dynamically match expertise, track interactions and collaborate between enterprise-to-enterprise and enterprise-to-partner is critical to business today. Kamoon enables organizations to 'forward and follow' on business critical requests and inquiries, ensuring that employees, partners, and sales channels receive the right answers from the most appropriate human resources," said David Musto, vice president of Product Management Kamoon Inc.

New functionality has made implementing the application easier through Web based tools that enable the enterprise to define and customize the application to fit its needs. The company has also added more power to the Kamoon Smart Engine while migrating to a pure Java2 application that is platform independent. The v.2.5 system enhancements have further strengthened Kamoon's value proposition to its clients with intra-enterprise collaboration, customizable workflow engine, improved expertise matching, and multiple view functionality that all work together to save the organization even more money through improved efficiencies.

The improved Administrative Interface allows Kamoon's client companies to implement new or change existing business policies easily. This capability reduces processing and implementation times for application changes. A robust reporting module allows for pre-established and custom reports to be generated as business needs evolve, thus shedding light on critical trends and business insights.

"Providing exciting new functionality to our clients in response to their feedback is what this new Version is all about," said Yali Harari, CEO at Kamoon. "Kamoon Version 2.5 will allow large corporations to more tightly integrate business rules with their business goals, to more actively manage requests and leverage knowledge workers to achieve even higher productivity returns and internal collaboration."

A summary of the capabilities available in the Kamoon Solution v2.5:

Platform Independent: Kamoon v2.5 is implemented in Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), the most comprehensive standard for object oriented programming, implemented with XML to create a system well suited for distributed environments and Internet applications. Application Servers, API mechanisms and UI layer can be run on any major operating system. The database layer is Oracle 8i. This Database is platform agnostic and versions exist for almost all operating systems. Version 2.5 operates on UNIX, Linux and Windows NT Platforms, supporting a variety of Web Servers and Java Application Servers.

Customizable Workflow Engine: A company can customize the Solution's workflow in order to create a large number of interaction scenarios, resulting in a client-driven business model. Each requestor will have a user experience that is tailored for his or her needs.

Multiple Interaction Interfaces: Providers can customize interfaces used for constructing correspondence and interactions between requestors and experts. Now, Kamoon's clients can take advantage of having multiple views into the process from the requestor, expert and overall company giving them valuable efficiency information to help them save money.

"Kamoon recognizes that open-ended communication between customers, prospects, and employees is not enough. Kamoon's latest products bring mission critical-caliber structure, tracking, and workflow capabilities to how online customer-focused collaboration is conducted," said Dana Gardner, research director for messaging a collaboration services at Aberdeen Group Inc in Boston.

Expertise Matching: Requests can be routed to experts based on a specific or multiple characteristics included in their profiles, increasing routing efficiency and improving service delivery. Expert profiles will capture and maintain important information regarding the professional's background and experience. This information assists requestors who wish to learn more about the professionals serving them or who wish to select professionals to work with from relevant groups. With the system's enhanced expert profiling functionality, experts can now automatically update their profiles and end-users can view expert profiles and rank experts. These enhancements combined dramatically improve the ability to match to the right expert for each end-user's unique request. Finally, administrators, experts and other requestors can all view ratings, improving business system performance.

Custom Reporting and Data Warehouse: Integration of Oracle's Discoverer reporting tool enables Kamoon client organizations to gain rich insight into their customer base and business channel. Implementation of a data warehouse increases system response and performance.

Collaboration: Experts can forward requests to other experts in an extended network for review before they are reserved or transfer reserved requests in whole or in part to other experts for handling, ensuring the efficient handling of routed requests. Providing this type of collaboration platform allows companies to manage the flow of expertise in handling an end-user's need for advice and human judgment.

Kamoon Application Program Interface: A general open API enables organizations to effectively integrate the Kamoon Solution into their existing IT infrastructure.

Partner Network: The same power and flexibility that firms have over their own expert resources can be extended to business partners, creating a strong and consistent extended enterprise network. The professionals residing in partner firms will be added to the system and managed in the same manner as internal resources.

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Interface: The system can import user data from other systems (e.g., payroll, human resources, directory services) to ease and speed the implementation process.

As vice president of Sales, Marc Bortniker will report directly to Yali Harari, president and CEO and will spearhead Kamoon's continued growth and expansion. "Marc's extensive experience in high-tech sales coupled with his expertise in business growth strategy will make him a great asset to Kamoon," said Yali Harari, president and CEO, Kamoon Inc.
