SAS, BTG Inc in Data Services Pact

SAS, a market leader in e-intelligence and decision-support software, and BTG, Inc, an information systems and technical services company, have signed a strategic alliance agreement to deliver end-to-end business intelligence technology and consulting services to the intelligence, federal, state and local government and K-12 markets. Together, BTG and SAS will provide clients with data warehousing, data mining, and decision-support solutions.

BTG specializes in information and network security and has provided intelligence systems and services to the federal government for nearly two decades. Under the terms of the agreement, BTG will be the exclusive integrator of SAS solutions to the intelligence community for new business.

Through this partnership, SAS will seek to increase its presence in all of the alliance markets, especially intelligence. BTG, through its Technology in Schools practice, expects to expand its presence in the K-12 market by working with SAS to identify and create technology solutions to promote academic excellence in America's public schools.

BTG senior vice president Bob Osterloh said the alliance will benefit the company's diverse client base. "We've worked for nearly 20 years with the classified community, so we understand the critical needs of intelligence agencies. This alliance with SAS means we can deliver proven commercial solutions from the world leader in data mining, data warehousing, and decision support. And these same solutions can be applied for other clients in defense and civilian agencies, in education, and in the commercial sector."
