Core Integration "College" Assists Companies in DW

Core Integration Partners Inc, announced that it has launched its Core College of instruction on the latest techniques in data warehousing and business intelligence, especially for companies that have reduced or eliminated outside consultants or contractors in order to cut costs.

Core College instructors offer one- to three-day courses that are taught onsite at the client's business by senior-level experts who have many years of field experience on a wide variety of projects.

"One of the biggest complaints we hear from IT departments is that all they get is book knowledge from most courses. Our instructors provide the lessons in the context of the real world environment. When we train clients, we show them how to apply it to their particular systems and data," said Ana Quintana, principal of Core Integration.

The courses, modeled on Core Integration's customer mentoring, are broken down into three categories: the use of ETL (extraction, transformation and load) products, the use of business intelligence products and general data warehousing classes.

Core is one of the nation's largest resellers of Informatica and Brio software platforms, and the courses in those areas range from instruction on product essentials to query and report building, analysis, cross-platform scripting and multi-organizational uses. Core also will develop courses for a particular business focusing on that company's specific requirements and using the company's own data. A select few of Core College courses also are offered in a public setting.

The data warehousing courses range from introductions for beginners to dimensional modeling and data warehouse architecture and methodology.

"In this tough economic climate, our goal is to help companies become more self-sufficient by maximizing the use of their inside resources," said Quintana.

All instructors are prominent data warehousing and business intelligence experts, including Core Integration CTO Dan Linstedt, developer of the company's The Matrix Methodology that features a groundbreaking Data Vault.
