Sand Appoints Markowski for New Direct German Operation

Sand Technology, the providers of high-performance, scaleable software solutions for data mining, data marts, data warehousing and analytical CRM, have appointed Roland Markowski as Managing Director for its new German operation in Hamburg.

Markowski has a strong pedigree within Germany, which has seen him as the Managing Director for Hummingbird Business Intelligence GmbH and Arbor Software GmbH. Here he was primarily responsible for the sales, channel and marketing strategies within Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"The German data warehouse marketplace is relatively mature," explains Markowski. "However, it is now commonplace to see organisations struggling to cope with the current constraints laid down by traditional technologies and architectures."
