Peter M. Mauel Joins Brio

Brio Technology Inc, a leading provider of business intelligence and analytic solutions for the Fortune 1000, announced that Peter M. Mauel will lead Brio's Strategic Accounts Sales organization. In this role, he will be responsible for the development and execution of the sales strategy for Brio's global strategic accounts in key vertical markets. The new organization's objective is to build and grow strong customer relationships with strategic accounts that drive sustainable long-term revenue streams and to capitalize on Brio's knowledge base of key vertical industries across customers. Mauel will report to Don Beck, executive vice president of Worldwide Sales.

Mr. Mauel comes to Brio with more than 15 years of experience in the high technology industry, selling and delivering large and complex solutions. Prior to joining Brio, Mauel was vice president of client services at North Systems, a multi-channel B2B supplier enablement software company. Other software experience includes Mauel's tenure at Oracle, where he was the vice president of customer relationship management (CRM) for Oracle Product Industries, covering Oracle's top 400 accounts in the high-technology, aerospace and defense, automotive, consumer packaged goods, energy and core industrial arenas. At Oracle, Mauel was responsible for developing, building and managing the CRM application and services go-to-market strategy, solution sales capabilities, strategic client development, partner management, consulting and delivery capabilities. Previously, he was a partner with Grant Thornton, an international accounting and consulting firm, where he built and led the western region CRM practice. Prior to Grant Thornton, Mauel held the position of senior manager for the professional services firm of Ernst & Young.

Mr. Mauel holds a MBA from the University of San Francisco and a BA from the University of Brighton, England.
