Informix and AGS Announce Release of Server Studio JE

Informix Software, the database company, an independent operating company of Informix Corporation, and AGS Ltd, a leading provider of software tools for development and management of database applications, jointly announced the release of Server Studio JE.

Server Studio JE is an open architecture, OS platform-independent Integrated Development & Management Environment (IDME) deployment platform that will serve as the common foundation for integration of current and future development, deployment and management tools across the entire family of Informix Software's enterprise database products.

Informix Software and AGS have been cooperating on tools for development of database applications and server management since 1999. In September of 2000, the two companies entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to form an alliance that provides joint engineering to assure continued interoperability of Informix Software's flagship enterprise database products and AGS' leading database development and management tools deployment platform -- Server Studio JE. Informix Software will distribute the core version of Server Studio JE to its customers free of charge, while, for those who require more advanced functionality, AGS will be making available an extensive collection of Add-in Modules.

Informix Corporation and IBM recently announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for IBM to acquire the assets of Informix Software in a cash transaction valued at $1 billion.
