Evoke Software Joins the Object Management Group

Evoke Software Corp, a leading provider of data profiling and analysis software, announced that it has joined the Object Management Group (OMG), the international software consortium responsible for establishing distributed computing specifications for both real-time and embedded distributed object computing. Evoke Software's support of OMG's Common Warehouse Metamodel (CWM) will provide its customers with substantially reduced IT project risk, lower costs, and shortened time to market, while raising the benchmark for defining metadata exchange models in the data warehousing industry.

As a member of the OMG, Evoke Software will work to define the metadata exchange between data warehousing, business intelligence, knowledge management and portal technologies. End users will experience the most accurate flow of information for critical business initiatives through a single standard, permitting a seamless exchange of metadata between several products from a range of vendors. Combined with the CWM standard, Evoke Software will provide customers with confidence that their data movement and integration initiatives are based on a correct understanding of enterprise data structures, helping to ensure that critical business initiatives are completed on time and within budget.

"OMG's success is built on the participation of the best people in the business to produce top notch, forward-looking technology standards," said Richard Soley, chairman and chief executive officer of OMG. "Our members are on the front line of technology development and implementation. Participating in the definition of CWM, Evoke Software will help establish and support standards for defining metadata exchange models for the data warehouse industry."

"CWM continues to be adopted by corporate IT teams and is considered the gold seal in enterprise software data exchange," added Evoke Software Chief Technology Officer, Jack Olson.
