RMS Releases Version 2.4 of Climetrix

Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a leading provider of products and services for the management of natural hazard risks, released version 2.4 of the Climetrix weather derivatives trading and risk management system.

The new version incorporates numerous enhancements and further advances the modeling capabilities available to weather derivative traders, portfolio managers, and end-users.

Key new features in the release include:

• Support for contracts based on average temperature indexes, expanding the range of weather risks that can be modeled in the Climetrix system to include all forms of temperature-based contracts
• Streamlined contract entry and analysis to facilitate rapid decision making
• Advances in individual contract pricing tools
• Significant expansion of portfolio risk reporting capabilities, including new risk metrics, regional breakdowns of portfolio risk, and detailed insights into the risk/return characteristics of all underlying positions
• Data import and export functionality that allows users to seamlessly transfer detailed information on individual contracts or portfolios between Climetrix and their other trading and back office systems using a common data format published by RMS

Climetrix is an Internet-based application that provides integrated access to all of the data, advanced pricing tools, and portfolio management capabilities necessary for successful participation in the weather market. The application can be accessed at www.climetrix.com. Since the initial release of Climetrix in July 2000, more than 70% of active weather market participants have licensed the system or the underlying weather data.
