Lumigent Technologies Secures Funding

Lumigent Technologies Inc, a developer of high-availability database tools for critical business platforms, announced it has secured more than $700,000 from individual investors, consolidating the company's position in support of the mid-tier database market.

"With more companies migrating to mid-tier databases for critical operations, this market is a significant growth area," said Richard Soley, CEO of the Object Management Group and a lead investor. "I believe that Lumigent Technologies is well-positioned to capitalize on this opportunity, as evidenced by the early success of its first product and its well-articulated plans to deploy future solutions that will meet the demands of this burgeoning audience."

This angel round investment will enable Lumigent to offer solutions that increase the reliability, availability, quality and manageability of mid-tier database applications. The company will fund continued research and development of new products and expand sales and marketing.

Since Lumigent's founding in August 2000, the company has shipped its first product, Log Explorer, the only database tool to solve a wide range of database problems, including the unique ability to restore lost data directly from the Microsoft SQL Server transaction log.
