Linux Supplement:LinuxWorld SF TO FEATURE LIVE BUSINESS APPLICATIONS SHOWCASEIDG World Expo announced the debut of an interactive Application Showcase at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, co-sponsored by IBM, which recently announced that the number of available enterprise applications for Linux grew 30 percent over the last six months. The Showcase will spotlight the latest advancements in application development and deployment running on the Linux operating system. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo will take place August 26-30, 2001 at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center. Visitors to IBM's Application Showcase will learn from customer case studies, and can ask customers directly about their experiences with Linux deployments. The showcase, co-sponsored by IBM and IDG World Expo, is located in Booth ##273 in the center's North Hall and will feature a range of applications from independent software vendors (ISVs) such as AccPac International, Alabanza, eGrail, Journyx, Legato, MarCole Enterprises, Rational Software, SAP, SAS and Sendmail. The showcase will also feature various IBM business partners including Pioneer Standard Electronics, MainLine, Denver Solutions Group and Equant. Applications will range broadly to highlight the full capabilities of Linux, including work optimization, CAD (computer-aided design), gift registration, small business accounting, email infrastructure and automated Web hosting.
