Business & Money Trail:

DATABEACON STRIKES BACK AT I.T. SLOWDOWN

Databeacon Inc, creator of Internet-based data analysis and reporting software for the masses, announced its new executive sales team, a tripling of its global sales organization, and a number of new channel partners around the world.

"Many North American software companies are laying off staff and otherwise retrenching their positions," says J.P. Jauvin, Databeacon's new vice president, worldwide sales. "But our Internet-based, mass-audience approach to data analysis is right on the money for Information Technology (I.T.) projects that must deliver bottom-line results in timeframes measured in weeks not months. So we're expanding to meet the market demand."

Jauvin is joined by other key sales executive appointees including Greg Singleton, vice president, international sales; and Scott Morin, director of sales. In addition, Databeacon continues to build its sales organization by recently adding account executives in the U.S. and Europe and the company has expanded its sales channel by adding 13 new channel partners around the world.

New Databeacon European channel partners include: B&B Unternehmungsberatung GmbH and Krafft/Anderko (Germany); Plexus and ITM Group (UK); and Serwise Business Services and Neuro Pie (Switzerland). In the United States, Databeacon has signed partnerships with EIA Inc (NY), Morris Internet Group (NJ), Renaissance Information Technology (IL), Vortalsoft Inc (NJ) and FDS (CA). In Asia, the company has signed Maxxum Technology (Singapore), CyberIndigo (India), and 2ii (Korea).

"Databeacon provides companies with an easy-to-use and easy-to-integrate product that turns static corporate data into dynamic insight, creating instant visibility across the entire organization," said Ilan Nachmany, COO, International Object Technology. "Through our relationship with Databeacon, we can now offer a tremendous value-add to companies looking to integrate drill-down analysis capabilities into information applications delivered via the Internet."

Databeacon's new senior sales executive sales team brings valuable expertise in selling enterprise solutions to Global 2000 corporations. J.P. Jauvin most recently managed sales for FastLane Technologies, and has also gained extensive enterprise sales management experience from positions at Cognos and ObjectTime. Greg Singleton and Scott Morin, also joining Databeacon from FastLane, provide added leadership and direction for the company's burgeoning sales force.

"The success our new executive sales team has generated in such a short time is very exciting, proving they have the know-how to help drive the company's growth plans for 2001 and beyond," said Andy Coutts, Databeacon's president and CEO. "Our sales organization is addressing and conquering worldwide demand for Internet-based data analysis for the masses, and this is a positive move towards achieving Databeacon's goal to become the de facto standard for Information Outreach to the masses."
