PowerTerm WebConnect v.3.2 Enables Cross-Platform Web Access

Ericom Software Inc announced the release of its newest e-Business product, PowerTerm WebConnect (version 3.2), that enables quick and easy Web-based access to a variety of corporate data, even if the data resides on different platforms and requires activation of different applications.

In a single session using a single login, users can now simultaneously access multiple applications across a wide range of legacy host systems, without worrying about cross-platform compatibility. This effectively eliminates the need for companies to make the huge financial investment of rehosting legacy system data and business rules in order to increase workforce efficiency. Plus, with PowerTerm WebConnect, users do not need separate sessions with separate logins for each application on each legacy system. PowerTerm WebConnect allows simultaneous, secure, and expedient access to a wide range of corporate data using one simple login.

Ericom's latest version of PowerTerm WebConnect features advanced Connection Properties functionalities, allowing system administrators to create an unlimited number of group, individual, or new user session connections utilizing the widest range of emulations possible, providing access to the widest range of hosts. This also enables system administrators to monitor and control levels of access to corporate data according to user groups or individuals, creating user menu selections for different applications and hardware as appropriate. PowerTerm WebConnect thus maintains corporate security while broadening data access and workforce efficiency.

PowerTerm WebConnect supports host systems such as IBM Mainframe, IBM AS/400, UNIX, HP/3000, Open VMS, SCO, Data General, LINUX and many others. In addition, PowerTerm WebConnect provides both Fat Client (ActiveX) and Thin Client (Java) options, high level security with SSL and SSH, centralized management, cross platform compatibility and increased flexibility in host access.
