RareVision to Showcase BI Service in Chicago

RareVision Inc, a leading provider of a Web-based, enterprise-level business intelligence service for fast-growing companies and their accountants, will exhibit its analysis tools at the 21st annual Business and Technology Solutions Show in Chicago, August 28 and 29. The company will use this opportunity to educate attendees that its cost-effective solution, which converts accounting data into business information, can help them grow their businesses and consulting practices.

RareVision, which is built on the software and financial expertise developed by parent company Walker Interactive Systems Inc, delivers the power of unprecedented, enterprise-level financial analysis to small and mid-size businesses. For a nominal monthly fee, a company can upload its accounting data and receive visual reports and alerts that enable management to anticipate potential problems, weigh financial alternatives and make better-informed decisions. The service -- which uses OLAP technology (Online Analytical Processing) -- is currently configured to work with Intuit's QuickBooks software. RareVision will soon expand compatibility to all major accounting software programs.

With RareVision, CPAs can provide additional consulting services to help their growing business clients mine accounting data for intelligence that leads to more effective business strategies. Through training in conjunction with the Sleeter Group -- a nationally recognized leader in software training for accountants, co-sponsored seminars with CPA partners, and its own Visionary Program, RareVision has sought to educate CPAs on how to use its service as a year-round, value-added resource for their clients.

"CPAs have long struggled to provide their clients with the information that will help them manage their businesses more successfully -- information that the Fortune 1000 has had at their fingertips," said Paul A. Lord, president of RareVision. "RareVision brings the power of enterprise level financial analysis to CPA consultants and the growing businesses they support. With access to such performance measures as forecasted cash flow, profitability, and customer retention, CPAs can now make themselves even more valuable as business advisors to their clients."

How It Works

Logging on to the RareVision service at www.rarevision.com begins with a snapshot of key business performance measures, including forecasted cash flow, income and expenses, average order size and frequency, accounts receivable aging, customer retention and top selling items or services. A simple graphic display clearly indicates whether each performance measure has had a positive change, a negative change or no significant change since the last data upload. RareVision analyzes past data, and uses algorithms to project future performance; then, if necessary, it displays alerts when any value falls outside its user-defined tolerance level. From this at-a-glance first page, users can easily drill down through the more complex levels of information when they need to find answers to more specific questions. RareVision also creates a variety of custom charts and reports.
