e-ClassicSystems Announces SQL Server ATM Manager Pro

e-ClassicSystems Inc, a software company that allows customers to better manage their ATM networks, announced the availability of a Microsoft SQL Server version of its ATM Manager Pro software suite.

"SQL Server was an obvious extension of ATM Manager Pro to meet the demands of larger customers," said Thomas F. Meurer, president of e-ClassicSystems. "This version allows for higher volumes, greater performance, and improved efficiencies compared to the Access database version. It will also provide accessibility to the ATM Manager Pro central database to disparate users worldwide via wide area networks.

"A growing number of financial institutions have selected SQL Server as their database of choice," continued Meurer. "With this version of ATM Manager Pro, they can benefit from complete, centralized ATM information management while complying with existing policies and protocols established by their IT department. The Microsoft Access version of our product will co-exist with the SQL Server version as a cost-effective solution for some of our current and future customers."

"We have used ATM Manager Pro for more than a year," said Maureen Chisholm, Operations Manager at ISA-Ecash who beta tested the SQL Server version. "The system centralized all of our ATM data -- assets, transactions, profitability, cash, service and so on -- into one master database, accessible by all departments involved in our ATM network. When e-ClassicSystems approached us about the SQL Server Beta program, it was an easy decision. ATM Manager Pro has allowed us to grow our terminal network and actually reduce our staff. Our move from the Access-based version to the new SQL Server version was invisible from our users' point of view, and allows us to now utilize several features of SQL Server that are important to us."

Additional benefits of a SQL Server database include improved scalability both in database size and concurrent users; integration with Windows NT's existing security model providing a more secure database environment; load balancing; and utilizing stored procedures to capitalize on server-based processing.

LumenSoft Releases Log Analyzer

LumenSoft Corporation, experts in Business Intelligence and OLAP technology, announced the availability of Log Analyzer. This robust analysis tool for Hyperion Essbase, IBM DB2 OLAP Server and ShowCase Essbase/400 server administrators collects and analyzes data across server, platform and database from a central utility.

"Log Analyzer gives the server administrator the ability to perform capacity planning, performance benchmarking, error tracking, and analyze and optimize database performance," said Cindy Smith, Director of Software Development, LumenSoft. "We are excited to offer this software as a stand-alone module or with the full ServerManager suite of administration tools."

Log Analyzer enables the administrator to exploit the raw data in their server logs. The easy to use wizard and built in scheduler automates the collection and reporting of log data. Data is then analyzed to predict the impact of system changes before implementation, drill into the bottlenecks in system performance, and assure availability of mission critical systems.

"The key is Log Analyzer's ability to mine volumes of raw data and transform it into meaningful information through an OLAP cube. This provides unlimited analysis options," added Smith.

Bundled with Log Analyzer is a run-time version of LumenSoft's SpreadsheetObjects, a robust reporting and analytic tool that allows the administrator to quickly and easily automate the report building process. Also included is a series of pre-constructed SpreadsheetObjects report templates, which generate the most frequently requested Log Analyzer reports.

LumenSoft's Log Analyzer is now available. LumenSoft also offers a complete line of server administration tools in ServerManager, a robust suite of tools designed to give the administrator complete control of the server environment from a central desktop. In addition to Log Analyzer, ServerManager tools include ScriptManager, PortManager, Task Scheduler, and Security Manager.

RMS Releases RiskLink v4.2 in Advance of 2002 Renewal Season

Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a industry leader in the area of natural hazard risk modeling, announced the release of RiskLink v4.2, a significant upgrade to its core catastrophe modeling software application. RiskLink offers catastrophe peril models for over 40 countries and territories, and is used by over 200 insurers, brokers, and reinsurers worldwide to quantify and transfer catastrophe risk.

The latest version, focused on workflow improvements, is made available prior to renewal season when insurance markets make heavy use of catastrophe models to support risk transfer activities. Enhancements include more efficient importing and management of exposure data, faster analysis times, and new features that streamline workflow when using the product for treaty analysis.

"We make a significant investment in working with our clients to collect high-quality exposure data for catastrophe modeling," said Cheryl Gelineau, vice president at Willis Re Inc. "RiskLink's new data import features give us better information to understand the quality of exposure data and to identify potential data entry errors. The result is more confidence in the data being analyzed and as a result more accurate loss estimates. All of this translates to better decisions being made on reinsurance placements."

Paul Larrett, treaty underwriter at Danish Re, added: "We manage hundreds of treaties and submissions each renewal season, and the terms and conditions can change during the renewal process. We use RiskLink to model the treaty structures that we deal with and assess our aggregate exposure. We look forward to using the new enhancements for faster updating of treaty terms and portfolios during the course of negotiations and after each contract is finalized, saving us significant effort at the busiest time of year."

Specific new features in RiskLink v4.2 include:

  • A preprocessor that identifies and reports data errors prior to importing
  • Faster importing, geocoding, and hazard data retrieval
  • A new reporting feature providing users with summary statistics to verify the quality of exposure data
  • Automatic aggregation of detailed loss output, reducing analysis time and eliminating back-end data manipulation
  • Post-analysis editing of treaty terms and re-calculation of loss results, improving usability for reinsurance underwriters
  • Ability to use treaty inception and expiry date to define reinsurance portfolios for analysis

Installations of RiskLink v4.2 are currently being scheduled with RMS clients.
