LumenSoft Announces Availability of OLAP Admin Components

LumenSoft Corporation, experts in Business Intelligence and OLAP technology, announced plans to offer its popular ServerManager OLAP administration tool both in a fully-integrated desktop version as well as individual modular applications.

Developed as an administration tool for Hyperion Essbase OLAP Server, IBM DB2 OLAP Server, and Showcase Essbase/400, ServerManager gives administrators the ability to control cross-server application and database maintenance, security access, batch processes, analysis and monitoring activities, routinely scheduled jobs, and port utilization -- all from a central location.

"This new modular approach let administrators who previously might not have needed the full application to purchase only those components that have the greatest value to them."

The modular application approach allows OLAP administrators to choose from a broad suite of tools including:

• Log Analyzer: enables the ability to view and analyze server or application log files and provides information on processes, errors and usage
• Port Manager: controls who has access to ports and when. Helps control and allocate port access, giving better management and reporting of organization resources
• Script Manager: provides automated deployment of routine batch processes and procedures. Users can quickly build custom script files using over 30 built-in commands. Administrators can run scripts in real-time, batched into master control files, or scheduled through the built-in scheduler.
• Desktop Control/Security Manager: tackles one of the most difficult and time-consuming facets of managing a database. Unlike existing administration tools, Security Manager allows users to view, modify, and edit all security components across the enterprise.

The development of the modular strategy coincides with LumenSoft's recently released ServerManager 2.5.1 version and initially offers either the full ServerManager suite or the Log Analyzer module.

"This new release adds key features of scheduling for exports and log analysis, offers enhanced security settings, and the ability to modify server properties," said Wallace. "With the product now so feature-rich, it was clear that the time was right to make its components available to as wide a market as possible."
