Aelita Software Now Shipping EventAdmin v.6.0/EDR v.5.0

Aelita Software Corporation announced the worldwide availability of EventAdmin 6.0 and Enterprise Directory Reporter (EDR) 5.0. The Windows 2000-based applications easily and cost-effectively enhance the operations and security management of enterprise networks that use Microsoft Windows by collecting and consolidating IT data across the enterprise for analysis and reporting. The new releases extend the products' capabilities to new types of data and new systems, while also integrating a new user interface.

The enhancements to EventAdmin and Enterprise Directory Reporter support both of these objectives."

The new release of EventAdmin adds comprehensive support for Microsoft.NET Enterprise Servers and collection of performance data to the existing event log capabilities. It also extends data collection to Unix systems, and enables integration with Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM). The result is a powerful and scalable enterprise event and performance management, analysis and auditing system that gives administrators in heterogeneous environments the power to track and analyze user activity patterns, applications behavior and systems health and performance.

EventAdmin integrates with and extends the functionality of MOM through Aelita's advanced algorithms for IT Data Acquisition, Archival, Analysis and Distribution (IT DAD). Options such as EventAdmin Management Packs deliver EventAdmin-specific knowledge to MOM, enabling the system's functions to be controlled and monitored through the MOM framework.

Enterprise Directory Reporter, which collects and consolidates directory and configuration data, has been enhanced with increased support for Active Directory and the addition of software and hardware inventory capabilities. It is the first reporting package to provide complete configuration reporting for Active Directory, creating a valuable resource for administrators who need to manage the changes associated with Active Directory and Exchange 2000. Enterprise Directory Reporter supports all directory objects, domains, Global Catalogs, Group Policy, Schema, Organizational Units, nested groups and sites.

Both EventAdmin and Enterprise Directory Reporter take advantage of the new Aelita Reporting Console, a powerful query and reporting engine, for generating, editing, analyzing and distributing various views of the analytical data. It also features integrated OLAP services, the ability to save reports in a variety of formats, and built-in emailing for automatic notification of out-of-norm data and automated report distribution.

Through the Aelita Reporting Console, IT administrators can review and act on highly detailed network reports while also providing the Chief Information Officer or Chief Technology Officer with a broad view of the current state of the IT infrastructure.
