WiseUncle Announces Artificially Intelligent Advisor

WiseUncle announced the availability of WiseUncle Advisor, a customizable artificial intelligence software application used by organizations to help their customers make complex purchase decisions online. It does so by using behavioral science principles to simulate a conversation between a customer and a highly knowledgeable source of advice.

"WiseUncle's Advisor is a harbinger of the next generation in commercial applications of artificial intelligence technology," proclaims Darrin Rowsell, WiseUncle's president. "As a consequence of the Internet, there is an overwhelming amount of information available to decision-makers. What isn't readily available is advice. Customers need help making their decisions, because if they can't decide, they're not going to buy."

J. Edward Russo, a Professor of Marketing & Behavioral Science at the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, and WiseUncle's Chief Scientific Advisor notes that "the key is to help the user bridge the gap between their needs -- which they know -- and the best product, which is what they need to know." That requires sophisticated technology with an inherent understanding of how people think and act. "You want the technology to adapt to the customers, not the other way around," argues Russo.

WiseUncle's AI software is predicated on behavioral science, an innovative approach to guided selling. A cornerstone of the Advisor system is WiseUncle's Socratic Inferencing technology. Socratic Inferencing takes plain English answers from the dialog with the customer and makes intelligent associations with other answers and sophisticated inferences to create specific recommendations. In sorting through possible recommendations, Advisor can differentiate between over 140 billion configurable options, a feat necessary and invaluable in complex domains such as computers and industrial equipment. Even the dialog itself is generated dynamically, changing based on the user's responses.

In the process of decision-aiding, WiseUncle Advisor collects data about how people make complex decisions. This data is used for customer profiling and clustering, and it can even test hypothetical products, like R&D's latest offerings, against real customer purchase data.
