DoubleTwist's New Online Service for Genomic Research

DoubleTwist announced the launch of a new online service for genomic research at The Institute for Genomic Research's (TIGR) 13th International Genome Sequencing and Analysis Conference (GSAC).

The GenomeZone service at DoubleTwist.com will provide subscribers online access to the entire DoubleTwist Annotated Human Genome Database, which features more than 35 integrated public and proprietary databases including DoubleTwist's Annotated Human and Mouse Gene Indices. The company will be providing demonstrations at its GSAC exhibition booth (Booth numbers 504 & 506).

Features of the new online service include: access to an assembled and annotated human genome, including the ability to conduct BLAST searches against the database using protein or nucleotide sequences or search for data with a flexible text search query interface; an enhanced version of the DoubleTwist Genomic Viewer, which includes the capability to navigate up and downstream from a specific chromosomal position; and online access to DoubleTwist Locus Reports.

The DoubleTwist Locus Reports, derived from DoubleTwist's proprietary algorithms, summarize gene, transcript, protein and functional information. Reports include predicted cDNA and protein sequences, all predicted exons for a given locus, alternative transcripts, expression profiles from RefSeq, UniGene and the DoubleTwist Gene Indices, protein comparisons and family associations.
