On The Market:

PowerDAQ driver for UEI's Data Acquisition Toolbox

United Electronic Industries (UEI), a leader in the field of hard, real-time data acquisition on PCs, has developed an interface that will allow the user to control and communicate with the UEI PowerDAQ series of hardware directly from the MATLAB technical computing environment.

The PowerDAQ MATLAB driver works with all of UEI's PowerDAQ Series boards.

Supplied as part of UEI's PowerDAQ software, it provides a seamless interface between the UEI PowerDAQ products and The MathWorks' Data Acquisition Toolbox, enabling users to simplify and speed up their data acquisition and analysis processes. UEI has developed it in recognition of the fact that The MathWorks' products are now the industry standard tools for data analysis and visualization.

The new driver has been developed with The Data Acquisition Adaptor Kit, which is supplied as an integral part of The MathWorks' Data Acquisition Toolbox at no extra cost. It provides a path for hardware manufacturers and MATLAB users to create custom interfaces to their hardware.

The Data Acquisition Toolbox, now in its second release, supports the entire data acquisition and analysis process and provides a complete set of tools for analogue input, analogue output and digital I/O from a variety of PCcompatible data acquisition hardware. It operates with MATLAB 6 and is currently available for Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME and NT.
