SPRINT PCS/BLUE MARTINI OFFER ENHANCED WEB COMMERCE

Blue Martini Software Inc announced that Sprint, which operates the nation's largest all-digital, all-PCS network, is expanding its online offerings via Blue Martini Software applications. With Blue Martini applications -- including Blue Martini Marketing, Commerce, Channels and Services -- Sprint PCS is enhancing its online commerce, customized business-to-business sites, technical support and data mining efforts.

The SprintPCS.com Web site is the most pervasive customer touch point for Sprint PCS. Customers can purchase service plans, products and accessories, check account balances and bills, manage their Wireless Web services, and even request technical support. As part of the Sprint PCS Clear Wireless Workplace, Sprint PCS also offers business customers access to easy-to-use resources designed to assist them in purchasing and managing Sprint PCS products and services.

Blue Martini applications can enable Sprint PCS to integrate its transaction-intensive business with front-end customer interface points. Every time a Sprint PCS customer uses a phone, the system creates a transaction record, placing intense demands on a system that added more than 1.2 million new net PCS users in the third quarter of 2001.

In one 48-hour period, Sprint PCS team members were able to create 75 customized "mini sites" for B2B customers. The team can use Blue Martini software to create a master Sprint PCS catalog, and then quickly spawn custom catalogs for personalized mini sites.

Sprint PCS' referral network initiative also allows consumers the opportunity to benefit from co-branding and other marketing promotions that may award new subscribers with frequent flier miles or other perks. By creating 20 customized reports with Blue Martini software, Sprint PCS also can identify and analyze customer trends. Future plans may include implementing Blue Martini applications to enable interactive technical support for online users, as well as refined personalization and enhanced account management features for customers.
