    Cornell University food science, engineering and computer science students have joined forces to develop a Web-based software and a database to track and compare genetic footprints, or characteristics, of bacteria.

    FULCRUM ANALYTICS LAUNCHES SEGMENTATION/CRM SEMINARS
    Fulcrum Analytics, a provider of customer intelligence technology and services, announced that it would host a series of seminars on customer segmentation and CRM-related issues for the retail industry, beginning in January.

    PHARSIGHT SIM TOOLS LINKED TO ROCHE'S GENOMICS PLATFORM
    Roche Bioscience and Pharsight Corp announced that the two companies have entered into an agreement to collaborate on linking Roche's "Digital Disease" genomics discovery platform to clinical drug development through application of Pharsight's modeling and simulation expertise and software tools.

    IBM SPILLS BEANS ON "XPERANTO" INITIATIVE

    In IBM's research labs, the company is working on a project, code-named "Xperanto," which is to be a native XML database that acts as a subset of DB2.     ETNUS TOTALVIEW TO SUPPORT SUN'S 64-BIT ARCHITECTURE
    Etnus, a leading supplier of debuggers for complex code, announced that they have entered into an agreement where Sun Microsystems Inc will support Etnus TotalView advanced debugging capabilities on Sun platforms, specifically with Sun's full 64-bit architecture, as well as with Sun's Message Passing Interface (MPI).

    7-ELEVEN IMPLEMENTS NOVADIGM SOLUTION
    Novadigm Inc announced that 7-Eleven Inc has implemented Novadigm's e-wrap technology to automate the management of server-based software that powers retail systems in its chain of 5,300 U.S. convenience stores.

    ORACLE ANNOUNCES LATEST TERABYTE DW CUSTOMER SUCCESSES
    Oracle Corp, one of the world's largest enterprise software companies, announced its latest success stories of customers using Oracle products to store and manage terabytes of data for analysis including Amazon.com, CitiBank, Korea Telecom and the United States Census Bureau.
