PeopleSoft Delivers Business Planning and Budgeting 8.3

PeopleSoft Inc delivered PeopleSoft Business Planning and Budgeting, a new suite of pure Internet applications that provides an integrated, end-to-end planning and budgeting solution. The new products enable companies to better respond to dynamic market conditions by streamlining budget cycles through a continuous collaborative planning process.

The industry-leading solution is comprised of two products, PeopleSoft 8.3 Business Planning and PeopleSoft 8.3 Budgeting. Business Planning enables companies to model business opportunities and forecast the potential financial impact of these opportunities. Advanced analytical capabilities in the Business Planning application enable customers to perform "what-if" scenarios and rolling forecasts, resulting in more-informed decision making. Business plans are seamlessly linked to the Budgeting application, helping to ensure that budgets reflect organizational goals. By integrating budgeting as part of a collaborative planning process, organizations can reduce the number of business plan revisions and dramatically improve operational efficiency.

The Business Planning and Budgeting solution utilizes the PeopleSoft Enterprise Warehouse -- an open data-warehousing platform that facilitates the easy storage, transfer, and use of data across different functional applications. For example, human resources data can be accessed for workforce budgeting and planning, or asset management application data can be analyzed for capital expense budgeting. The Enterprise Warehouse centrally stores data from multiple sources, including PeopleSoft and third-party applications, saving customers the time of re-entering data in separate places or pulling from disparate systems. As a result, organizations have an enterprise-wide resource to help drive a more efficient planning and budgeting process.
