Business & Money Trail:STRIVA CORPORATION ACQUIRES EDP PRODUCT LINE FROM BMCStriva Corporation and BMC Software Inc announced Striva's acquisition of the Enterprise Data Propagation (EDP) line of products from BMC Software. With this acquisition, Striva becomes the only vendor capable of delivering a solution for the propagation of complex enterprise data between heterogeneous platforms and applications in real-time and in batch. With this transaction, Striva has acquired BMC Software's complete line of EDP products. BMC Software EDP employees have transitioned to Striva and will continue to be located in Austin, Texas, which will now become the base for Striva's Development and Customer Support organization for the Americas. "Striva is a market leader in data integration and we believe that our EDP customers are in good hands," said Bob Beauchamp, president and chief executive officer, BMC Software. "The Striva technology is extremely complementary to our EDP products and will provide customers a much broader solution-set." The acquired EDP product suite provides customers with a high-performance enterprise change-data capture and real-time data propagation capabilities. This functionality complements Striva's award-winning DETAIL batch integration platform. Additionally, Striva and BMC Software have established a strategic relationship in which both companies have agreed to engage in cooperative marketing and technology activities that will leverage the combined value of their solutions to their mutual customers. BMC Software also has become a minority shareholder in Striva. "I believe that this creates a win-win situation for all of the parties involved in this transaction," said David Richmond, CEO and founder of Striva. "EDP customers will benefit because of our focused investment in this mission-critical technology, and the acquisition will rapidly accelerate the execution of our business plan." Striva's Solutions for Enterprise Data Integration Managing corporate data is becoming increasingly important. The global economy, e-business, and the rapid pace of technological and economic change have increased the need to have the right data in the right place at the right time. The inherent challenges of data management have also grown. Data in today's organizations is stored in a variety of locations and formats: mainframe enterprise systems, distributed systems, Web-based systems, relational databases, and other environments. The ability to move data across these heterogeneous environments in a timely and efficient manner can be a key element in making successful business decisions. "Striva and BMC have each built world-class technologies that have proven themselves in some of the world's most rigorous and demanding business environments," said Paul Bach, president of Striva. "With this acquisition, Striva is uniquely positioned to address the data integration needs of major corporations." The Striva solution enables organizations to reliably and efficiently move bulk and changed data between mainframe, AS/400, UNIX and Windows platforms, in real-time and in batch. This enables Striva to deliver real-time data integration across the enterprise to support applications that include data warehousing, business intelligence, decision support, application integration and e-business initiatives.
