BUSINESS OBJECTS ANNOUNCES OEM AGREEMENT WITH PEREGRINE SYS

Business Objects, a leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, announced an OEM agreement with Peregrine Systems Inc, a leading global software company, to deliver BI capabilities in its Infrastructure Management solutions.

Once the integration is complete, Peregrine customers will have access to a complete 360-degree view of all their infrastructure assets. Business Objects BI capabilities will allow Peregrine customers to use a common tool to analyze and report on this critical business data. Users can share and analyze information across departments, as well as extend BI data to customers, buyers, suppliers, and business partners via extranets, intranets, portals, and mobile environments. With the added business intelligence capability, Peregrine customers can make more informed strategic business decisions, which will impact the overall success of a company through cost savings, streamlined processes, and improved customer service.

Extending BI from Infrastructure to Business Relationship Management

With the agreement, Peregrine will embed Business Objects technology within a common Web portal for its Infrastructure Management application suites. These applications enable companies to better manage their operational processes and costs across all infrastructure disciplines, including tangible assets, such as information technology (IT) equipment, facilities, telephony, transportation, real estate, and intangible assets, such as intellectual capital. The integration with Business Objects will enable Peregrine customers to create advanced ad hoc queries and analyze reports on Peregrine data and share these reports within a controlled environment both inside and outside the enterprise.

Today's agreement with Peregrine further solidifies Business Objects position as the market leader in business intelligence. Business Objects has formed global alliances with leading vendors in several key markets, including Siebel Systems in customer relationship management; i2 Technologies Inc in supply chain management; IBM in data management; Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, in data warehousing; and now Peregrine in Infrastructure Management.
