Applications:Perseus' Complete Mobile Data Management SystemPerseus Development Corporation, a leader in Web-based survey software and research services, announced at Internet World Spring the release of Perseus MobileForms, a new mobile information collection software system. Based on the overwhelming popularity of the SurveySolutions product family, Perseus MobileForms is designed to address the growing need for advanced mobile data collection and reporting. "MobileForms helps organizations with their entire mobile data management process -- form creation, deployment to Palm-Powered devices, results collection, and reporting and analysis," said Barry Eaton, Product Manager for MobileForms. "The technology supports instant results of remote field research, dramatically reduces the timeframe between collecting and reporting the data, improves data integrity, and eliminates the need for time consuming and costly data entry." With MobileForms, survey forms are deployed on a handheld device, eliminating the need for paper-based surveys. Form creation is done using Perseus SurveySolutions simple word processing interface. The forms are easily transferred to the handheld device using the wireless Internet library or one-touch wire-based hot sync. Responses are collected and stored on the handheld device and transferred through wireless or wire-based connections to either an Internet SQL database or a desktop Microsoft Access database. "Perseus MobileForms is an integrated component of Perseus SurveySolutions. Forms created with SurveySolutions can now be deployed on the Web, by e-mail or on a Palm device. The entire process is completely automated, and results from all modes of collection are stored to the same Internet or desktop database," said Mr. Eaton. Perseus' MobileForms is used to collect, analyze, and report data for a wide-range of applications including market research, customer service, field sales reporting, inventory management, site inspections, and field audits. Applications for Perseus' MobileForms exist within the retail, government, market research, healthcare, general business and education markets. Recently OSHA used Perseus MobileForms to complete an extensive environmental study on asthma. Perseus MobileForms supported the efficient collection of complete data from over 350 households, dramatically reducing the collection-to-reporting cycle time and increasing data integrity. Another new user, an automotive market research firm, replaced their paper-based survey system with MobileForms, in order to interview up to 300 people per day at car shows. The collected data is immediately transferred to a database that is used to generate valuable marketing reports in a fraction of the time it used to take. Perseus MobileForms is licensed per handheld device. Support for form design for the Palm device is included with SurveySolutions Professional and Enterprise products version 4.1 and above. Wireless support requires Perseus SurveySolutions Enterprise. Since 1997, the SurveySolutions product line has benefited its users by offering its unique and powerful word-processing survey design process. All SurveySolutions products include complete compatibility with Microsoft Office applications. The survey-design environment supports Microsoft Word (.doc) formats, allowing users to import surveys created from Word for easy questionnaire setup. Survey results can be exported to native Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access formats, and result slides can be exported to Microsoft PowerPoint. Microsoft FrontPage can also be used for advanced formatting of Web-based surveys.
