AnVil, a pioneering life sciences discovery company that turns data into

Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants from the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) to develop software tools used in the discovery of cancer
drugs.
ECLIPSYS FORMS SunClinical DATA INSTITUTE
Eclipsys Corporation, The Outcomes Company, announced the establishment of
a new business division, SunClinical Data Institute, to aid healthcare
organizations (HCOs) in unlocking the scientific and clinical management
power that resides in clinical information systems.
FUJITSU DEVELOPS 300Gb/in2 HDD TECHNOLOGY
Fujitsu, a world leader in hard disk drive technology, has developed
revolutionary new read head and media technologies that will enable hard
disk drive (HDD) recording densities of up to 300 gigabits per square inch
(Gb/in2). The new technologies are expected to lead to the commercial
introduction within two to four years of 2.5" hard disk drives with
capacities up to six times the recording density available today.

'01 DATABASE SALES NUMBERS FROM DATAQUEST
IBM took the No. 1 spot last year in terms of total new database software
sales from long-time leader Oracle Corp, according to a new report from
Dataquest, a unit of technology research firm Gartner Inc. Oracle remains
king of the relational database software segment, but slipped because of
competition from IBM and Microsoft, Dataquest said.
MICROSOFT SQL SERVER ACCELERATOR FOR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
Microsoft Corp announced the availability of the Microsoft SQL Server
Accelerator for Business Intelligence (Accelerator for BI). The Accelerator
for BI is a rapid application development tool to automate the process of
building the infrastructure of an analytical application.
NOETIX SIMPLIFIES BI DEVELOPMENT FOR ORACLE/MS APPS USERS
Noetix Corp, a global infrastructure software provider that unlocks
corporate data and empowers decision-makers to answer their own business
questions, announced the Noetix Development Kit for Business Intelligence to
allow quick and straightforward sourcing of Oracle E-Business Suite
Financials data into the Microsoft SQL Server Accelerator for Business
Intelligence (Accelerator for BI).
ASPECT MEDICAL SYSTEMS MONITORS COMPANY PULSE WITH COGNOS BI
Aspect Medical Systems has implemented a business intelligence solution
from Cognos. Cognos is delivering a unified, accurate view of corporate
performance across the organization, while maximizing the company's existing
data warehouse and Siebel CRM investments.
