User Benefits

  • Thin client architecture provides quick access to information Any authorized user can create and modify displays from any PC
  • Secure information distribution to all authorized users, without costly per-seat fees
  • Instant connectivity to industrial data sources including real-time, historical, and relational data (e.g. lab information systems and maintenance systems)
  • Familiar Web-browser interface and intuitive tools make the newuser -to-power-user transition quick
  • Integration with Microsoft desktop applications for self-maintaining reports Matrikon announced the release of a major upgrade to ProcessNet, a thin-client solution for the process and manufacturing industries, which provides users with a web-based platform for real-time decision-making.

ProcessNet solves the problems associated with accessing and using data residing in various information systems across the plant. ProcessNet's thin-client tools for data visualization, reporting, trending, and building graphics enable enterprise collaboration. Typical users range from corporate executives to area managers and plant operators.

In a typical plant, key information resides in separate, incompatible databases, creating information silos that make it difficult for any user to see the whole picture, let alone make well-informed knowledge-based business and operating decisions. ProcessNet's easy-to-use interface makes it simple to combine data from all sources and turn it into useful information.

"ProcessNet has allowed us to better leverage our existing infrastructure," stated Tim Lafser, engineering supervisor at AmerenUE Labadie Power Plant, which recently established ProcessNet as their corporate standard for Web visualization of plant data.

Lafser continued: "We've realized productivity and efficiency gains by allowing real-time, Web-based access to information across the plant. ProcessNet has provided outstanding value to AmerenUE."

"One of the biggest challenges facing users is aggregating information from multiple disparate sources across the plant into a single, clear, and unified presentation," stated Dave Woll, vice president of consulting at the ARC Advisory Group, "Matrikon has utilized Web-based technology and their extensive integration capability to effectively address this issue with ProcessNet. It provides the added benefit of allowing users to preserve their investment in legacy system graphics with utilities that support their use in the ProcessNet structure."

About ProcessNet

ProcessNet is an out-of-the-box industrial decision support solution that delivers web-based access to plant data in real time, regardless of the data's original format or operating system. ProcessNet's simple yet powerful environment makes rapid development of custom Web-based applications possible without the need for extensive web-development knowledge or additional tools.

ProcessNet enables users to realize the potential of their information assets without pushing data from one source to another, by simply leaving data at its source and providing secure access.

Product Features

  • Personalization tools enabling each user to create a custom environment tailored to the way they work; users may customize their views to include Key Performance Indicators (KPI) relevant to their job function
  • Collaboration tools enabling users to instantly share information
  • True thin client architecture requires only a Web browser, dramatically reducing training costs, licensing costs, IT administration costs and maintenance costs
  • Web-based process graphics building tools enabling users to simply "drag and drop" to develop web applications linked to live and historical data
  • Ability to import and convert existing process graphics
  • Advanced trending tools that support a variety of trends and trend functions, including superimposed batch and real-time trends
