LIGHTSAND LAUNCHES STORAGE GATEWAY TO JAPANESE MARKET

LightSand, a pioneering developer of High Performance Wide Area Storage Networks, announced that it has signed an agreement with Digital Technologies Corp. (DTC) to begin selling LightSand's products in Japan. Digital Technologies Corp., will provide sales, service and support for LightSand products in Japan.

LightSand announced that it has signed an agreement with Digital Technologies Corp. (DTC) to begin selling LightSand's products in Japan. "DTC is the ideal partner for us," stated LightSand CEO Philip Black. "They are a premier reseller in one of the largest technologies markets in the world. We look forward to working with them to provide Japanese customers with the next generation in high performance wide area storage networking solutions."

"Our clients in Japan have been waiting for a product that will enable them to move large amounts of data between geographically separated sites," said Indy Sakiyama, president of DTC. "With the LightSand S-600 and S-2500 gateways we can now meet these requirements, providing high bandwidth connections that can move our customer's data thousands of kilometers at speeds up to 2.5 Gigabits per second."

Digital Technologies Corp. is introducing the LightSand products to the Japanese market at the NetWorld+Interop 2002 Tokyo trade show. The LightSand gateways are featured in DTC's booth #1K04 in hall 1 of the Nippon Convention Center in Tokyo.
