Xiotech And Commvault Announce Strategic Partnership

XIOtech Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seagate Technology and a storage area network (SAN) pioneer announced its strategic alliance with CommVault Systems, a leading provider of enterprise data management solutions. The alliance includes joint marketing and development efforts that will concentrate on delivering enterprise class data storage to Microsoft enterprise software solutions customers.

A key project of the alliance entails a joint marketing campaign targeting twelve key U.S. cities and will involve hosting seminars and developing consulting services for users of Microsoft products such as Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.

The Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre is employing XIOtech's MAGNITUDE hardware platform along with CommVault System's Galaxy software to store and manage medical information. A variety of applications, including MS Exchange, Xerox Flow Port imaging software, SQL databases, and the Center's intranet, are all accessed from the MAGNITUDE. "We wanted the strongest possible solution," said Igor Tolstoy, senior network analyst for the Centre. "The combination of the Galaxy software and the XIOtech system has been great--very user friendly and rock-solid reliable."
