QLogic HBAs & Switches Certified With StorageTek Tape Drives

QLogic Corp, the company that powers storage networks, and StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp), a storage services and solutions expert, have jointly certified StorageTek's T9840B and T9840A Fibre Channel tape drives to FCP-2 standard, and have also qualified StorageTek L Series automated libraries for interoperability with QLogic SANblade 2Gb PCI, PCI-X and cPCI Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) and QLogic SANbox2 switches in Solaris environments. This thoroughly tested functionality enables IT professionals to harness highspeed Fibre Channel SAN and data access applications with open-standard configurations that deliver industry-leading performance with confidence.

QLogic SANbox2 Switches -- 2Gb Speed and Lowest Latency

The QLogic SANbox2 16 port switch passed Light Reading's tests with flying colors in their January 17 2002 tests conducted by Network Test labs. The SANbox2 was the only switch to successfully complete testing in this first independent 2Gb switch comparison. The QLogic switch delivered average latencies of just 400 nanoseconds. This allows the SANbox2 to deliver 125,000 frames in the time it takes a hummingbird to flap its wings once, noted Light Reading.
