NRG Energy Chooses FalconStor Technology

FalconStor Software Inc, a leading provider of network storage infrastructure software, announced that NRG Energy Inc, an independent power producer, has chosen FalconStor's IPStor to consolidate the provisioning of storage capacity and to centralize the management of mission-critical storage services for a robust SAN infrastructure with high availability, performance, security, and scalability for optimum business continuity.

NRG Energy, a wholly owned and unregulated subsidiary of Xcel Energy, develops and operates power generating facilities. NRG's operations include competitive energy production and cogeneration facilities, thermal energy production and energy resource recovery facilities. Its IT organization required a storage solution with an extensive set of advanced storage management features and the ability to leverage the existing storage environment to meet all their requirements. NRG turned to FalconStor to help ensure that NRG's business continuity objectives were met without disruptions or outages.
