BROCADE SilkWorm 12000 CORE FABRIC SWITCH AVAILABLE

Brocade Communications Systems Inc, one of the world's leading providers of infrastructure solutions for Storage Area Networks (SANs), has announced that the Brocade SilkWorm 12000 Core Fabric Switch is generally available from EMC Corporation to its customers worldwide as the EMC Connectrix ED-12000B. An industry-leading 2 Gigabit per Second (Gbit/sec), modular core fabric switch designed to support the unique demands of enterprise storage applications and services, the Connectrix ED-12000B includes unique Brocade features such as ISL Trunking, Frame Filtering, and advanced hardware-enforced zoning for the highest level of SAN security and manageability in the enterprise. The Connectrix ED-12000B is available through EMC in 64-port to 128-port configurations, complementing EMC's current sale and support of the Brocade SilkWorm 3800 16-port Enterprise Fabric Switch as the EMC Connectrix DS-16B2. This also expands the existing relationship between the two companies in which EMC will integrate the Fabric Access API into the EMC WideSky storage management middleware, allowing EMC to integrate full Brocade SAN management capabilities into EMC software products such as ESN Manager.
