Adaptec, Seagate Drive Adoption of Ultra320 SCSI Products

Adaptec Inc, a global leader in data storage access solutions, and Seagate Technology, a world leading disk drive supplier, have continued their leadership in driving channel adoption of next-generation storage technologies by providing the first complete Ultra320 SCSI solution to resellers for system prototype development, testing and evaluation.

Powered by Adaptec's Seamless Streaming technology, which maximizes Ultra320 performance by streamlining data and command packet processing, the solution delivers data transfer rates of 320 megabytes per second, double that of Ultra160. It also incorporates packetization and other key features to bolster overall system performance, data integrity and reliability. Designed for mainline storage, streaming video and audio, video editing and other bandwidth-hungry applications, the solution consists of the Adaptec SCSI Card 39320D, Seagate's 147-gigabyte Cheetah 10K.6 drive, Adaptec Ultra320 cabling, software drivers, installation guides and product literature.
