StoreAge provides enterprise SAN storage management solutions that centralize the provisioning, performance optimization and protection of storage across heterogeneous hosts and storage devices. As part of the new Unisys Storage Sentinel solution, Unisys has integrated key StoreAge technologies, including:

• StoreAge SVM (Storage Virtualization Manager), an out-of-the-data-path (asymmetric) SAN appliance that provides virtual volume management across all storage within a SAN. In collaboration with StoreAge, Unisys Storage Sentinel management console integrates some key features of StoreAge SVM, which include centralized provisioning of storage capacity, I/O load balancing, path failover, performance optimization and centralized management of data across the entire SAN space.
• multiView, a snapshot copy application that creates multiple Read/Write point-in-time image copies of any virtualized volume on any storage device in the SAN. Each snapshot is independently accessible and instantly available, and may be mounted by any host on the SAN, enabling activities such as zero-downtime backup, online restore, data warehouse updates and application testing to occur without disrupting production servers or applications.

Unisys Storage Sentinel is a complete storage management solution that enables enterprises to maximize the utilization of heterogeneous storage resources while supporting uninterrupted business operations -- all from a single console. Storage Sentinel reduces the total cost of storage ownership by simplifying storage asset management and deployment, providing comprehensive business continuance capabilities, and enabling enterprises to more efficiently utilize their existing storage resources, thus deferring or eliminating new storage purchases.
