Sand Technology Announces Deal With AOL Deutschland

Sand Technology has announced that it has entered into a contract with one of Germany's leading Internet Service Providers, AOL Deutschland GmbH & Co.KG. Under the terms of the contract, Sand will provide a custom-designed Customer Insight solution built on its industry-leading Sand Analytic Server platform to the German subsidiary of the worldwide ISP.

"After examining many options, we chose Sand's Customer Insight solution based on its successful track record with a number of leading European Telecommunications and ISP companies," said Fred Turling, Director of Database Marketing, AOL Deutschland. "Sand understands both the complexity of the customer model for our industry and the need to support it with a high-performance, highly scalable implementation platform."

The system will allow AOL, within the strict guidelines of German data security laws, to analyse the usage patterns of their web pages and design new products and services accordingly. Sand will provide the design and development services out of its German headquarters in Hamburg.

"It will involve sourcing weblog data each day and presenting it for analysis, with hundreds of attributes and a couple of years history available. We believe that the system will give AOL the most responsive view of Internet customer activity currently available in Germany."
