FalconStor's POWERS SAN STORAGE SOLUTION FOR WOLTERS KLUWER

FalconStor Software Inc, a leading provider of network storage infrastructure software, announced recently that Wolters Kluwer is deploying IPStor to consolidate storage to streamline information access and to provide end-to-end, high availability infrastructure to facilitate rapid recovery from hardware or Data Center failures.

The global SAN storage network of Wolters Kluwer France, at its Editions Lamy and Group Liaison sites, includes the latest generation of Brocade switches, StorageTek libraries and MTI Vivant filers.

"The virtualisation capacity of the new solution allows us to share data volumes between several servers. SAN management is made more simple and gives a higher security margin in case of errors of manipulation," said Luc Vannier, Network and Telco Director of the Group. "In the past, it has occurred that data has not been correctly saved. An undetected defective band on a server can mean that data recovery is impossible. Also, deposit of bands to the bank was done manually (35 every day) which was very time consuming."

IPStor offers secure and high availability network storage infrastructure management. This architecture encompasses enterprise storage services (replication, Mirroring, snapshot, and more) of all storage resources, including virtualisation, and operates over Fibre channel or IP, optimising existing infrastructure and reducing operating costs. High availability is accomplished through active-active failover, ensuring business continuance and higher levels of performance for Wolters Kluwer.
