SteelCloud Selected To Provide Advanced Network Appliance

SteelCloud Inc, a leader in the development of turnkey network appliance solutions, announced recently that it has signed an OEM agreement with a leading-edge infrastructure support company to supply a high performance, high capacity network appliance. The product platform, designated "SK6," is designed for the most demanding storage-intensive network applications. The compact 2U system combines dual high performance CPUs, up to six network interfaces, and over a half a terabyte of cost effective IDE RAID storage.

"Our challenge with this OEM customer was to develop an appliance that would significantly reduce the cost of deploying their distributed technology in some of the world's largest enterprises," remarked Brian Hajost, executive vice president for SteelCloud. "We carefully combined the proper compute capability, network access, and storage capacity to create the perfect appliance for our customer's application. Implementing cutting-edge, hotswappable IDE RAID disk storage rather than traditional SCSI technology reduced the final appliance cost by 50%. SteelCloud has once again succeeded in leveraging our technical expertise to help make our customer more competitive and profitable."

With data storage requirements doubling every two years, storage-intensive applications are emerging as a significant new appliance market segment for SteelCloud. The Company has received over $750,000 in orders for the SK6 platform and is projecting several million dollars of additional revenue for the platform over the next 12 months.
