FalconStor, StorageTek AND SANZ TEAM TO PROVIDE STORAGE

FalconStor Software Inc, a leading provider of network storage infrastructure software, announced recently that it has teamed with StorageTek, a storage services and solutions expert, and Storage Area Networks, a provider of total data storage management solutions, to deploy FalconStor's IPStor and StorageTek switches and disks as the network storage infrastructure at a large financial services company to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.

IT requirements that needed to be met by the chosen storage solution included a mandate for nonstop access to its SQL Server database data, Microsoft Exchange data store, and user files, and an urgent need to implement a comprehensive solution for high availability and disaster recovery. The financial customer wanted nonstop access to their mission critical data in the event of any kind of failure, from defective hardware, software malfunction, user error or accidental deletion, to power outages and fire.

SANZ and FalconStor were asked to transform an increasingly time consuming and difficult to manage IT environment with 8 Terabytes of direct-attached distributed storage to many application servers into a seamless SAN environment with high data availability and business continuity. With data almost doubling every year due to copious business transactions, an influx of new clients, and accumulation of research data, the future looked overwhelming to the financial services company, and out-of-space downtime was a constant concern.
