M-SYSTEMS ENLISTS WILLIAM MORRIS TO TARGET ENTERTAINMENT

William Morris Consulting, a division of the William Morris Agency, and its partner Chissick and Co, recently announced a marketing partnership with M-Systems' DiskOnKey product division. The goal of the relationship is to build alliances for M-Systems within the entertainment and media markets enabling the company to introduce its DiskOnKey technology to music publishers, gaming companies, broadcast studios and networks.

M-Systems' DiskOnKey, which plugs into USB ports, is the leading USB keychain storage device. It provides an easy way for users to save data and transfer information between systems. The device, which is the size of a pen with the storage capacity of a hard drive, has enough room to quickly save and retrieve documents, presentations, music and video files, and high-resolution photographs up to 512MB in a highly secure environment.

"M-Systems designed the DiskOnKey to be a smart computing device capable of adapting to the needs of the everyday user whether it be as a personal data device or for offering compelling custom applications," said Blaine Phelps, worldwide marketing manager for M-Systems' DiskOnKey Division. "We feel that the device is the ideal solution for the entertainment industry and we are excited to see the impact the DiskOnKey will have through the new partnership with WMA and Chissick."

The device contains an ARM7 CPU for driverless operation with and between current operating systems including Win98, WinME, Win NT, Win2000, WinXP, WinCe4.0, Mac OS 8.6, 9.0+, 10+ and Linux 2.4.0. Currently available in 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512MB storage capacities, the device can save anything from Word files to MP3s. The DiskOnKey has undergone rigorous testing for reliability and durability, securing certification by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL), and is the only product in the category approved to carry the certified-USB logo set by the USB Implementers Forum. The device also has the flexibility to run applications off of the device including the KeySafe security application and the MyKey personalization portal.

"More than just negotiating alliances, William Morris Consulting is helping to educate and introduce the entertainment industry and other constituencies to the benefits of the DiskOnKey," said John Mass, senior vice president, William Morris Consulting. "This relationship is the ideal example of content and technology working hand-in-hand in the successful formation of new digital delivery platforms for entertainment, communication and information."
