DAW To Release Connectivity Kit For Pervasive.SQL V8

Pervasive Software Inc, a leading provider of data-management solutions powering the success of application developers worldwide, has announced that one of its premier customers, Data Access Worldwide, will release a new connectivity kit for the next version of Pervasive's flagship database, Pervasive.SQL, at the time of its launch later this quarter.

"Our participation in Pervasive's V8 Inner Circle, an early customer engagement program, ensures that our developers who rely on Pervasive for their back-end data management will be able to migrate their Visual DataFlex, DataFlex and WebApp Server applications forward immediately upon release of Pervasive.SQL V8," said Stephen Meeley, vice president of product management, Data Access Worldwide (DAW).

During the program that included early testing of the soon-to-be-released Pervasive.SQL V8, DAW has had the opportunity to extensively test the DataFlex Connectivity Kit with the V8 database to allow a seamless migration and optimize performance improvements. The DataFlex Connectivity Kit for Pervasive.SQL plugs the Visual DataFlex Integrated Development Environment directly into the powerful capabilities and impressive speed of Pervasive.SQL by taking full advantage of its transactional interface. Pervasive.SQL for DataFlex also supports WebApp Server and Windows Console Mode applications with the same easy conversion process.

DAW is holding customer sessions called Connectivity Test Flights during which applications are converted to client/server versions powered by a Pervasive database. The first such session drew high praise from participants who said the near-flawless conversion was accomplished in just a few hours, which was faster than expected.
