NEW Snap GuardianOS ENABLES INTEGRATED ANTI-VIRUS PROTECTION

Snap Appliance Inc, a worldwide volume leader of network attached storage (NAS) products, has announced:

• The only NAS product line with integrated Anti-virus software.
• The Snap Server 4400 model is now available with greater storage capacity and performance.
• New GuardianOS Operating System Version 2.2.
• The company's Guardian line of NAS servers will now carry the Snap Server brand.

The popular Snap Server 4400 model now has a storage capacity of 720 gigabytes and boasts 20% faster throughput and 50% faster response time. Features include hot-swappable disk drives and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports in a high-density 1U (1.75-inch) rack-mount form factor. This new product and OS enhancements with anti-virus is now available.

In addition, the new GuardianOS v2.2 features increased security and functionality with two major enhancements. Included with every copy of v2.2 is an embedded version of Computer Associates' eTrust anti-virus software, as well as improved snapshot technology with chaining and rollback functionality. Snap's implementation of eTrust offers customers an award-winning anti-virus solution that reduces virus infections and eases administration with automated updates. Improved snapshot technology allows for chaining of separate snapshots for minimizing disk space requirements and rollback of snapshots to easily restore accidentally deleted or corrupted files and directories.
